Ladybird in a 5-6 year old Akbash/Labrador. She is up to date on her shots and well trained, including leash training. As an Akbash/Labrador she in a wonderful mix of both breeds. Being part guardian dog she tended to our chickens. Keeping them safe from hawks and coyotes and never putting her mouth on them as Labs might do. But like a Lab she loves to be active, play in water, cuddle, and curl up for a nap. If you live on a big piece of property with chickens or like to go on walks or hike regularly Ladybird would be a fantastic companion and loyal friend. She is great on least and a joy to walk.
Ladybird has enjoyed other dogs and kids. She will chase cats if they run but never harms them. She is a follower and mimics the behaviors of those around her. If you are uneasy with someone, she will be also. She loves my kids. She is a large breed and needs management with small children just in case she gets excited. If children back away from her she ignores them, but if they want to pet her or play, she lets them. She loves our 8-year-old nephew who play wrestles with her. She has never bitten anyone.
Ladybird does great on car rides, at the vet, and on the leash. Being a follower at heart she has been a dream to train. As an outdoor dog I have not had the need to house train or crate train her. I would not be surprised if she would catch on fast.
We currently live on 10 acres but have to move to town as the property is being sold, and we aren’t able to take her with us. We move at the end of the year. I’ve tried posting on several rehoming groups but haven’t been able to find her a home. She is a great dog, and I am at a loss on what to do. I’m trying to leave no stone unturned when trying to find her a home. If anyone has any suggestions or inquiries about Ladybird they can email me at smiller29.ucm@gmail.com – We are willing to travel to rehome her.
