Sunny – Yellow Female, 8 years, 65 lbs.
Sunny has been a star guest in her foster home! She is both playful and affectionate, but knows how to hang out on her own like a great coworker! When her foster mom is working at home, Sunny will hang out in her office. She will alternate between her chewies and taking short naps in her crate (she just asks that you leave her with a tasty Kong, please!).
Sunny gets along well with the other 4-legged beasts in the foster home and can sometimes get those funny zoomies, so watch out! She enjoys having some play time in the backyard, and then her best possible conclusion to an evening would be snuggle time on the sofa with her people! She is a devoted companion who loves people more than anything.
Sunny’s very favorite thing is … you guessed it, TREATS!! Food motivated dogs make training so much easier. She likes to get her ya-ya’s out for a while and then she can chillax with the rest of the dogs. She craves human attention and affection as she didn’t have a lot of that before. She came from a family with children. Sunny is best in a home without cats. She is old enough to be past that crazy puppy stage yet has ample energy for walks or play.
Sunny comes to us as a surrender due to moving. She spent her 8 years outside as a yard ornament with another dog, day and night, hot or cold. Sunny longs to finally be a real member of a family who will treat her like she should be treated. Despite her lonely previous life, she is a happy, loving girl who has a nice energy level. She gets along with other furry friends, but she does enjoy soaking up all the attention from her people, so she would be just fine as an only dog too. Sunny had a UTI when she came to us because she had not seen a vet in many years. With medication that is resolving itself. Sunny is crate trained and working on house training. An adult dog is generally easy to housetrain. She still needs some leash work since she was never previously walked – but she loves it and will learn.
