Myles – Black Male X, 5 months, 40 lbs.
Myles and his eight littermates were found abandoned on a city street at just 4 weeks old and taken to the local shelter. Thankfully, they soon made their way to our rescue where they were given the chance they deserved. All of Myles’ brothers and sisters have since been adopted by wonderful families — and now it’s Myles’ turn to find his happily ever after as a proud LRRF TriPawd!
Myles was born with a condition called Hemimelia, which means some bones in his leg never developed. We knew from the time he was 4 weeks old that amputation would likely be the best option for him. As the time approached, we were naturally a little nervous, but we also knew his quality of life would be so much better without dragging that leg.
Because of your generous donations, Myles’ surgery was an absolute success and he is thriving as a TriPawd!
Is he a little slower getting around sometimes? Sure. But wait until you see him run! Like many tripod dogs, he’s still figuring things out and may look a little awkward at times, but he absolutely keeps up with his foster friends and enjoys life just like any other puppy.
Myles can hop up and down from the couch and even the human bed like a pro. However, a home with a lot of stairs would not be ideal for him.
He is crate trained and potty trained, loves children, and gets along great with both big and small dogs. Cats are unknown, but we’re pretty sure they could outrun him if they needed to!
Myles is the perfect balance of cuddly and independent — happy to snuggle but also content doing his own thing. If you’d like to know more about Myles, please fill out an adoption application.
