Duke – Yellow (fox red) Male, 5 years old, 68 lbs.

Duke and his brother Rip were surrendered to Lab Rescue (family moving to East Coast). He has been a ‘country dog’ all of his life and now wants to be a ‘house dog’. Considering he has been left outside and was NEVER allowed in his people’s house, he is a WONDERFUL house guest. After only 48 hrs he is allowed to roam the house while his humans are grocery shopping and running errands.  He gets along with his foster sisters and they are a handful!

Duke sleeps in his crate at night and doesn’t make a peep although we think he’d prefer to share the human bed. Duke LOVES meal time….very food motivated. He is also very inquisitive….the first time he saw himself in the mirror he wondered why the dog in the mirror was staring at him. LOL Now when he looks in the mirrored closet door, he walks into the closet to see where the dog went.

Duke is house and crate trained, gets along with other dogs, there are no cats in his foster home so they are unknown. Duke is affectionate and loves to be where his people are. Highly food motivated, he is easy to train and wants to please. He finally gets to live like a true companion should.
