Mika is an energetic, beautiful 1-year old yellow lab/golden/pit mix. She and her siblings were found as strays when they were about 3 months old and she was adopted out to our family through LRRF. Since then, Mika has lived with our family (2 young kids, 2 cats, 1 other lab) but unfortunately it is turning out that having her in a home with cats and young kids is not a good mix.

Mika is obedient, house broken and crate trained. She’s an excellent watch dog and she is loyal to her people. She loves to play fetch and snuggle at your feet. She is healthy, spayed, up to date on shots, and weighs about 45 pounds.

Mika does have reactivity to other dogs and prey drive towards cats so we think she should not live with cats. She could possibly live with another large, mellow dog with proper introductions but would probably do better as the only dog in a home. We are looking to place her in a dog-experienced home without children under 10 as she does have occasional reactivity with kids.

We are requiring an application process, home visit, and commitment to return Mika to us in the event it does not work out in her new home. She is currently located in Davis, CA. Please reach out to Nora at noraeroos@gmail.com with any questions and to apply.
