Sheldon – Black Male, 18 weeks, 31 lbs.
Sheldon is just like his namesake; a little awkward, very smart, silly and sweet. He has been exposed to cats, other dogs of all sizes, chickens, and children and loves everyone he meets. He is a typical puppy so he wants to play with everyone (which the cats don’t appreciate). Sheldon is super smart; he has been crated during his recovery so he barks when he needs to go outside and potty, or he’s hungry. It won’t take him long to adapt to using a dog door. Sheldon has a very consistent schedule and knows when his foster mom is working. He stays quiet most of a normal workday except for potty breaks and meals. He’s also a terrific couch snuggler and will keep himself entertained with a bone by your side every night.
Sheldon was surrendered by a homeless person to a vet in Visalia. He had a badly broken femur in his back left leg that was beyond the vet services performed at the hospital. He was surrendered to LRRF and an orthopedic surgeon and two steel plates to correct. He has been recovering for 8 weeks, and his leg barely has a scar. In time, no one would ever know he was injured.
Sheldon is so enthusiastic to meet the world and find his forever family. He will do great in an active home with or without children and another dog to play with. He has thrived with a consistent routine to follow and learns very quickly.
