Lilly – Yellow female, 1 year, 70 lbs.

Hello Labbie lovers, I’m Lilly, named after a beautiful flower, but in Lab talk it means beautiful girl. I was found in a field, skinny and scared, blind in one eye, and taken in by a good Samaritan. Things were going great, regular meals, a comfy bed, hugs and cuddles, then I got in trouble for trying to take the cluck out of the chickens and gobble out of the turkey. Not a happy day for me and my new family. Thank God the amazing angels at LRRF stepped in to find me a new home. That’s where you come in. Do you need a forever companion who will love you unconditionally, amuse you with my morning talks, be at the door for you when you return (not that you would ever want to leave me at home), lay on the couch with you and watch movies?

I’m not only beautiful, I’m smart. Since becoming a foster dog I’ve learned the doggie door, how to sit before meals, and where to sleep at bedtime. I’ve never had toys before but this house is full of them and I share them with my foster brother, sometimes we even play tug together. I’m learning how to walk on a leash next to my foster dad and not pull his arm off. I love the sights, sounds, and especially the smells of the neighborhood. Foster dad teases that I’m not a real lab. I don’t wolf down my food like my foster brother so dad has to stand guard while I chew my food. He says I’m low energy for a one-year-old, I don’t get into things or steal off the counter. I say it’s just good manners.

Lilly will bloom into a lovely companion. She is quick to learn, loves to cuddle, go for walks, and lay in the pool. She will need a family that sets boundaries and is willing to continue training her in basic obedience. She gets along great with her foster lab brother, playing for hours. She does have a prey drive so no small animals or cats. Lilly will need an active family who will take her on regular walks, jogs, or hikes. As each day passes, Lilly is getting more and more comfortable in her foster home and showing us more and more of her fun-loving, good-natured, sweetheart self! She is blind in one eye which doesn’t slow her down but does take some attention to how you approach her.
