Kenya – Yellow (Red) Female, 1 year, 60 lbs.
Meet Kenya! A very sweet 1 year old lab mix found as an emaciated stray here in the Valley. She’s now about 60 pounds and we suspect she will grow to be around 70 or so pounds.
She is definitely still puppy-like as she loves her soft toys and will tear them apart like nobody’s business! Just like most large breed puppies, she doesn’t quite know how big she is, but she’s a very smart girl. She’s figured out how to walk fairly well on a leash. She’s potty trained and currently being fostered by a family in a 3rd story apartment and has done very well.
She likes to steal things left on the floor and carry them around. She’s a complete love once she’s familiar with you. She can be a little aloof and cautious around strangers. Just like all young dogs, training and regular exercise should be a priority to help ensure a successful adoption and a lifetime of good behavior.
A good long walk in the morning and evening and she is set for the day!
She’s being fostered with a smaller dog, there are no cats in the home. Our guess is the chase game would be popular with a cat! So best in a home without a feline.
If you think yours is the perfect home for this sweet, fun girl, please fill out our online adoption application, or if you’ve already done that, reply to your original email response and ask that it be forwarded to Kenya’s foster family.
