Hugo – Black male, 9 years old, 70 pounds

Do you need a buddy? Someone to gaze at you with all the love in the world? Someone who wants nothing more than to be by your side and be your best pal? If that sounds like a beautiful friendship, Hugo is the gentleman for you. You may remember Hugo, we asked our supporters for help in getting his dental care and thanks to you, he smells sweet! He is like a new boy after his senior checkup, dental treatment and thyroid medication. The staff at the vets office compliment his good behavior.

Hugo was roaming the streets, where he was picked up by animal control. He came to LRRF on the day he was scheduled to be euthanized. What a lucky day for him and his future family because he was so worth saving!

Hugo is crate trained, house trained, loves all dogs but people are his favorite. He wants to be close enough for petting and will try hard to please (especially for a treat!). We are unsure how he feels about cats.

In rescue we often say that when a dog is saved their gratitude shows in their eyes. That describes this most excellent boy. The love of a senior dog is truly something special.

If you feel these eyes speaking to your heart, please fill out an application for Hugo or if you have already made an application, email a reply to the volunteer who first answered your application.
