Hey there! My name is Bruce Almighty, but maybe it should be Clifford instead! Like the famous Clifford the Big Red Dog who is devoted to his dear Emily Elizabeth, I am a big black dog who is totally devoted to my people. Unlike Clifford, who grew up with his forever family since he was a pup, I had a rather unfortunate start in life, and was found in the mountains as an underweight stray. With some help from my guardian angels, I made my way to LRRF and I am loving life again! Now I am ready to find my own forever family to devote my big heart to – could it be you?
Like Clifford, I aim to please and always try my best to bring a smile to my peoples’ faces. I have not had the benefit of training classes in my younger years, but I am treat- and praise- motivated which makes me easy to train. I have already learned sit, basic leash manners, and I’m kennel-trained – not too shabby, right?! I am a simple mellow guy – I just want to be with my people. Hikes, beach trips, trips to the coffee shop, or just some sweet cuddles on the couch, I am up for it all! I am a big boy, and while I am not quite large enough to ride like Emily Elizabeth rides Clifford, I am the perfect size for giant hugs. I get along well with other dogs (I do favor other female dogs) but for me, it is my people that matter most. I did not get much love from people in my early years, so I have to make up for lost time!
Bruce is a big ol’ hunk of love who just wants to be a part of the family. He has a laid-back mellow energy and is well past that notorious Labrador puppy stage. Bruce is all about his people and is a fabulous companion. He has not met a cat yet, so a feline-free home would be best. While he does get along with other dogs and particularly enjoys the company of female dogs, his main priority is his people so he would be totally fine as an only dog. Bruce prefers not to share his food dish with other dogs after experiencing starvation, but it is very simple to feed dogs separately. Bruce has learned a few basic commands in his foster home and would love to learn more with his forever family. He is full of love and ready to devote all that love to his forever family!
